FIRST TENNESSEE BANK SIGNS CONTRACT WITH VENTUS NETWORKS TO PROVIDE SECURE WIRELESS AND BROADBAND
SERVICES
NORWALK, CT – September 27, 2006 First Tennessee Bank (FTB), recently signed a contract
with Ventus Networks to provide comprehensive infrastructure network delivery services. FTB,
headquartered in Memphis, TN, is a wholly owned subsidiary of First Horizon National Corporation
(NYSE: FHN). FHN, a $36 billion financial institution, comprised of FTB, FTN Financial, and
First Horizon Bank (Irving, Texas) has hundreds of offices and 13,000+ employees located in
more than 40 states. First Tennessee, with over 180 branches in Tennessee and Mississippi,

This contract entrusts Ventus Networks to provide ‘big picture’ connectivity for
routing FTB’s financial data transactions from off-premises ATMs. Under the terms of
this agreement, Ventus Networks will provide FTB a single source solution for high-speed
wireless and broadband delivery solutions. This agreement includes monitoring, maintenance
and management services. Ventus is recognized as one of the largest providers of wireless
transport for financial institutions.
Ventus Networks’ highly secure high-speed wireless transport system that operates in
conjunction with TCP/IP and legacy protocols, enables any remote device to communicate through
a single network scheme. The network runs as part of a virtual private network (VPN) that is
enhanced by Triple DES encryption with IPSec tunneling and x.509 dynamic key exchange
authentication and firewalls, and provides improved security for ATM transactions.
