VENTUS NETWORKS ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF NEW WIRELESS SERVICE
Reliable networking solutions without the wires provide improved flexibility and dramatic scalability
NORWALK, CT, Jan. 22, 2004 – A new cellular transport and routing service is now available from Ventus Networks, the Connecticut-based network communications company. This high-speed wireless solution works in conjunction with TCP/IP and legacy protocols, enabling any remote device to communicate through a single network scheme. Cellular transport operates over a private cellular (800 MHz) and PCS (1900 MHz) infrastructure, and is designed for businesses that have a portfolio of deployed devices facilitating financial transactions.

Ventus Networks utilizes its own proprietary VFN wireless series routers, enabling operation in all GSM and CDMA2000 environments. The VFN routers operate as part of a virtual private network and data transport is protected by firewalls, providing enhanced security for ATM, POS, or transactional kiosk devices. Monitored at Ventus’ Operations Center, the network allows for seamless transaction routing between device and host processor.
Additionally, the Operations Center benefits from direct connections to all major providers of cellular service, and networks are not limited by cellular infrastructures or roaming areas, enabling Ventus to offer extensive, uninterrupted coverage. Customers pay a flat monthly fee for wireless transaction routing services.
