NETWORKS PROVIDES METAVANTE WITH
SECURE CELLULAR CDMA SERVICES

29, 2004 - Ventus Networks, a
full-service global telecommunications
company, has contracted to provide
cellular financial transaction routing
technology to Metavante, a leading ATM
processor and provider of banking and
payment technologies. Metavante
is the financial technology subsidiary
of Marshall & llsley Corporation.
Metavante
selected Ventus CDMA (Code Division
Multiple Access) cellular financial
transport and routing service to provide
their customers with secure and reliable
wireless connectivity to drive
off-premise ATM terminals. Under
the terms of the contract Ventus will
provide a complete managed solution to
Metavante, including network monitoring,
installation and field service support.
Ventus Networks
high-speed cellular transport solution
operates in conjunction with TCP/IP and
legacy protocols, enabling any remote
device to communicate through a single
network scheme. Cellular transport
operates over a private cellular (800
MHz) and PCS (1900 MHz) infrastructure
and is designed for businesses that have
a portfolio of deployed devices
facilitating financial transactions.
Ventus
uses its proprietary VFN wireless series
routers and VNet Constant-Connect
software enabling operation in all GSM
and CDMA2000 environments. The
company's cellular network runs as part
of a virtual private network (VPN) that
is enhanced by Triple DES encryption
with dynamic key exchange authentication
and firewalls, and provides improved
security for ATM, POS, or transactional
kiosk devices.
