GENPASS AND
PARTNERS ANNOUNCE WIRELESS ATM SERVICE
IRVING, TX, August 17, 2004 - Genpass
Technologies, operator of the MoneyPass
national surcharge-free EFT network and
the second largest ATM driver in the
U.S., together with its partners Ventus
Networks and Lipman USA, announced today
the availability of its next generation
wireless ATM service, Genpass Wireless.
Genpass Wireless uses Ventus Networks'
CDMA technology, the latest in wireless
digital data services, to allow ATMs to
process transactions without traditional
telephone line connections."Genpass
Wireless is not just a solution for
mobile ATMs" said Tom McHugh, Chief
Operating Officer for Genpass
Technologies. "This service combines the
transaction speeds of a dedicated
lease-line with costs that can be even
lower than a dial-up connection.
And with Genpass Wireless the cost and
time required to install or relocate an
ATM is significantly reduced.
"It combines the best of both
the lease-line and dial-up worlds," said
Ron Riva, VP of Operations for Ventus
Networks, which partnered with Genpass
to deliver the service.
Genpass Wireless can support Lipman
ATM's configured for dial-up or TCP/IP
communications. The first ATM to be
certified on the new service was the
Nurit 6000 manufactured by Lipman.
"This is another example of Lipman's
leadership in delivering high quality,
cost effective solutions for ATM
deployers. Wireless Service is the
next step in cost effectiveness for
ATM's, said Randall Wheeler, EVP of
Sales and Marketing for Lipman USA.
The companies expect the wireless
service to be a popular alternative to
dial-up for many off-premise deployments
and to lease-line for many financial
institution ATMs. "Genpass
Wireless is a quantum leap in ATM
performance, flexibility and cost, "
said Genpass' McHugh. "We've had
this service running on some of our own
ATM's for several months. The
performance, costs and security features
are exceptional."
