    Ventus Networks currently has the following positions available:

    TELCO HELP DESK – LEVEL ONE

    Ventus Networks with headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut has immediate openings for Telco Help Desk Support – Level One. Our technical support is at the forefront of our company. They are the department most customers interact with on a regular basis and as such must maintain strong professional mannerisms and a friendly attitude at all times. These openings are for both full time and part time positions that require nights and weekends. Responsibilities include answering incoming support calls either via telephone, email, or our support ticketing system; monitor network performance and device stability; call out unresolved outage and latency issues to related Telco and ensure prompt resolution; alert Level Two and Level Three Help Desk Personnel of issues and work towards resolution; react to any incoming alerts from our network managements system; monitor Intrusion Detection System; monitor internal equipment and servers for trouble. Requirements include strong knowledge of routing and switching along with experience with network management platforms such as Nagios, OpenNMS, and OpenView. Exceptional English speaking abilities and ability to learn and follow directions. Salary, plus commission with a comprehensive benefit package.     SENIOR NETWORK/SYSTEMS ENGINEER

    Ventus Networks with headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut has an available position for a senior Linux/network/systems engineer. This position is responsible for advanced Linux, VPN configuration, dynamic routing, kernel development, system administration, network engineering, and more. The broad spectrum of responsibilities all relate to our network infrastructure and integration of our proprietary Linux routers. Responsibilities include extensive work on our proprietary embedded Linux routers including C/C++ programming, Bash scripting, Perl programming, etc. This position is a mission critical position within the company and requires a bachelors’ degree in related field with 10+ years experience, Masters’ a plus. Extensive experience and advanced knowledge of the Linux operating system including kernel tuning and networking with Cisco a strong plus. Understanding of legacy protocols, protocol conversion and knowledge of financial technology such as ATM's and POS devises a strong plus. Strong communication and organizational skills required.     SENIOR APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

    Ventus Networks with headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut has an available position for a Senior Applications engineer. This position will write computer code for a variety of applications including software for our embedded Linux appliance for wireless equipment line of products. Applications consist of proprietary Linux scripts, network applications, protocol conversion, and more. Excellent growth opportunity for the right candidate, We offer many comprehensive benefits.     LINUX ENGINEER

    Ventus Networks with headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut, provides global fixed wired and wireless telecommunication networks; including a full suite of managed service solutions for the financial vertical market. Ventus secure data networks are designed for the transportation of sensitive financial data traffic, and is capable of operating with a wide variety of accepted communication protocols. Ventus Networks is seeking an innovative, creative, and experienced Linux expert to assist in the design, development, and implementation of new products. This person will focus on the operating systems and services, essential duties include the following:

    • Experience in embedded Linux and or BSD.
    • Extensive experience in Linux systems programming using C/C++, Bash, Perl, Python, etc.
    • Experience in 2.6 Linux Kernel VPN functionality and general Kernel customization.
    • Strong networking is required including dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, RIP, etc.
    • Needs to have had 15 years or more of related experience.
    • Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Needs to be a generalist is on the Linux platform and other OSS.
    • Must be self motivated, well organized, and have strong innovation and facilitation skills.
    • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
    • Some overtime mandatory.
    • Able to write simple reports and ad-hoc queries.


    Required Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent complimented by 10 to 15 years of experience, Masters Degree preferred.
    • Understanding of Network Security, RF CDMA/GSM and 802.x Networks.
    • Banking Regulations related to CISP & DPS, ATM/POS processing & operations knowledge a strong plus.

    SENIOR NETWORK & SECURITY ENGINEER PRE-SALES

    Ventus Networks with headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut, provides a global fixed wire and wireless (WAN) telecommunication networks including a suite of managed service solutions to the financial vertical markets. Ventus Networks secure data networks are designed for the transportation of sensitive financial oriented data traffic and is capable of operating in a wide variety of accepted communication protocols. Ventus Networks is seeking an innovative, creative and experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer/Pre-Sales professional. The Senior Network & Security Engineer works as a critical element of the Ventus Networks Sales team in the direct support of our financial client base. The position is primarily responsible for providing technical sales & engineering assistance to our clients and assisting in qualifying the prospective client's suitability for our service offering. Ventus is looking for engineering talent willing to take on the challenging opportunity that this position presents. The Senior Network & Security Engineer will be asked at time to travel domestically in support of our client's business and technical needs. The role is technically demanding and will involve a period of training working with Ventus’ product engineering staff both hardware and software. Essential duties include the following:

    • Provide technical sales assistance to our Financial Clients Sales Organization.
    • Work closely within the company to provide necessary business and industry knowledge to ensure successful pre and post-sales implementations. This will include participating in the early stages of implementation to help clearly define the business requirements.
    • Assist in qualifying the prospective client's suitability for our service offering.
    • Participates in prospect strategy sessions and provides input to sales team.
    • Works with sales representative to ensure a comprehensive understanding of client's business and technical needs.
    • Removes technical inhibitors to closing the sale through follow-through and research to address customer concerns.
    • Based on customer input, works with the sales staff on customer input, works with the client's Operations Team to develop sizing estimates and cost-effective, quality technical solutions.
    • Provides technical advice and guidance to customers on solutions development.
    • Maintains an in-depth understanding of our client's service offering, supporting technologies and delivery capabilities.
    • Conveys the value of our client's service through customer presentations and one-on-one meetings.
    • Assists the sales representative in responding to Request for Proposals (RFP's).
    • Provides guidance on deal strategy and technical solutions development based on expertise and understanding of the cellular industries.

    Required Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent complimented by 10 to 15 years of technical pre and post sales experience.
    • Strong understanding of Network Routing & Network Security, RF CDMA/GSM and 802.x Networks, Banking Regulations related to CISP & DPS, ATM/POS processing & operations, technical product evaluation processes and related landscape.
    • In-depth knowledge of Financial Systems including ATM/POS Terminals, FEPs
    • Experience and knowledge of computer systems, network architectures, UNIX/Linux, TCP/IP networking, telecommunications and wireless technologies.
    • Understanding of Shell and Perl programming an asset.
    • Understanding and experience with caching technology an asset (Cisco, Network Appliance)
    • Familiarity with basic selling skills.
    • Ability to identify and deliver customer requirements and meaningful field input to the product, development and installation teams.
    • Confidence and ability to interact professionally and build relationships with a wide spectrum of customers and partners including C level executives.
    • Excellent writing, communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to travel extensively into the United States.
